Ventura County’s 37th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observance

Grateful and inspired, we acknowledge the dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. Committee of Ventura County.  — The CNL team

The Martin Luther King Jr. Committee of Ventura County will present its 37th annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance in-person Monday, Jan. 16.

The day’s events will begin at 8 a.m. with a Freedom March from Plaza Park at Fifth and C streets in Oxnard to the Oxnard Performing Arts Center (OPAC) at 800 Hobson Way. Oxnard City Corps will provide transportation from the OPAC to Plaza Park beginning at 7:30 a.m.

The Observance Program will begin at 9 a.m. at the OPAC. This year’s theme is: “In Darkness Be the Light Striving for Freedom.” The keynote speaker will be Ventura Councilmember Lorrie Brown. $10 admission to the Observance Program includes refreshments and vendor exhibits.
