Putting Nature to Work Series Prescribed Grazing for Ecological and Wildfire Resilience
March 22 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Wildfires in California have substantially increased in frequency and intensity over the last few decades, fueled by drought and the overgrowth of fine, dry brush. In mid-February, Senator Monique Limón introduced legislation to enhance wildfire mitigation efforts by expanding statewide prescribed grazing efforts. Hear from local rangeland contractors, conservationists, and policymakers about the need to scale this important ecological and fire resilience tool – and how Senate Bill 675 will ensure that prescribed grazing is better integrated into existing statewide wildfire resilience programs and strategies.
