Poverty & Power Documentary Screening + Q&A Discussion

April 16 @ 6:30 pm

The Blum Center Student Leader Team invites you to an in-person screening of End Poverty In California’s (EPIC) documentary Poverty & Power. Light refreshments will be provided.

Poverty & Power is the story of what happens when you bring people with lived experience—their voices, ideas, and aspirations—to the halls of power. It is an empowering story of what might happen and how transformative it would be if people in poverty were not just listened to, but actually heard.

Following the documentary the Team will host a Q&A discussion with our audience to learn about the potential for movement-building amongst our campus community.

This screening event supports EPIC’s forthcoming discussion: Ending Poverty In California: A Movement, A Plan, A More Equitable Future on Thursday, April 18th at UCSB. The event is co-sponsored by the Blum Center, the History Department, and the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center’s Imagining California series.
