Now & Next: The State of Race, Today and Tomorrow.

August 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free

We’re excited to announce that Heather McGhee, NY Times bestselling author of The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone, will kick off our upcoming three-part speaker series Now & Next: The State of Race, Today and Tomorrow. She’ll be joined by Greenlining President Debra Gore-Mann and esteemed USC Professor of Sociology and American Studies & Ethnicity, Manuel Pastor.
This panel of incredible racial justice advocates will explore the questions: Why are we seeing backlash to social progress? And, how do we move forward in a country that seems increasingly afraid or unwilling to talk explicitly about race? Most importantly, where are we seeing signs of hope?

And this is just the beginning. We’re honored to be joined by these powerful racial justice advocates and leaders for this series:

Heather McGhee, Author of The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone
Alicia Garza, Author of The Purpose of Power and Principal of the Black Futures Lab
Manuel Pastor, USC Professor of Sociology and American Studies & Ethnicity
Yeshimabeit Milner, Founder & Executive Director, Data for Black Lives
Debra Gore-Mann, President and CEO, The Greenlining Institute
Alvaro Sanchez, Vice President of Policy, The Greenlining Institute
Vinhcent Le, Senior Legal Counsel, The Greenlining Institute
And more!
