Fighting for Voting Rights: Then and Now

February 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

On February 16, 2022 at a noon virtual Community Forum, the Santa Barbara League of Women Voters is hosting three current League of Women Voters presidents from states experiencing voter suppression. Attendees will learn what is being done to fight for voting rights, and what can be done to empower voters and defend democracy.

In this two-part presentation, there also will be a sneak-peek at a new documentary feature-length film produced and directed by Santa Barbara local Beth Pitton-August. “Just the Beginning: A Century of Political Power and the League of Women Voters” explores the past, present and future of women’s political power through the lens of the 100-year history of the League of Women Voters and allied groups.
Register here to attend the Feb. 16 virtual Community Forum:

This virtual Community Forum is presented by the League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara. Co-sponsors are the Santa Barbara Women’s Political Committee, and the American Association of University Women.
