End Women’s Poverty: Invest in Caring, Not Killing
March 8 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
The California Poor People’s Campaign along with women’s organizations who are national partners of PPC, invite you to join our national online M8 event End Women’s Poverty: Invest in Caring Not Killing.
As we are leading up to M8 – International Women’s Day –taking place on Wednesday March 8th—where we lift up all the work that women do, waged and unwaged. We want to build momentum, attention and the women’s movement for change. We want to highlight women’s achievements as well as women’s poverty, how it impacts children and our communities and other systemic challenges that still exist today.
Speakers include Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D, Wisc); Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharris, Co-chair of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival; and Shailly Barnes, Policy Director of the Kairos Center.
And with women and children making up 70% of impoverished people in the US, hear the voices of grassroots women working to end poverty. There will be a speak-out by women who are impacted by the PPC pillars: poverty, racism, the war economy and ecological devastation.
