CAUSE Action Leadership Awards Reception
May 22 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm$64
Our Annual Leadership Awards Reception will be held on Sunday, May 22nd–in person once again after two long years–and I hope you’ll join us!
Beyond the much-needed heartening joy of gathering in person with movement friends, this is a key opportunity to bring in the funds we need to raise the political voice and grassroots power of immigrants, young people, and working-class communities throughout the Central Coast. This is why we started CAUSE Action together–and why we call on your support again today.
You’ll be joined by fellow supporters of social, environmental, and economic justice and grassroots democracy and will help us honor this year’s Corazón Award recipient: Oxnard Councilmember Gabby Basua–one of our region’s strongest elected champions for housing justice, who led the charge to win the strongest tenant protections of any city between the Bay Area and Los Angeles!
We’ll also be celebrating some of our grassroots leaders who are at the heart of our work–from helping stop the attempted right-wing recall power grab and conducting legislative visits to providing exemplary COVID outreach, tenant organizing, helping redistricting efforts, and more!
Tickets are $64 with event Sponsorship opportunities like becoming one of our sustaining Monthly Movement Builders at $25/month – Every bit of support truly helps!
We’ll connect in community around music, food and drink, listen to a brief program, and bid in our silent auction outside in the beautiful Lobero Theatre Courtyard. And most of all, the funds you help raise at our Awards Reception will uplift our get-out-the-vote efforts in underrepresented neighborhoods and elect representatives who will stand for social, economic and environmental justice this year.
I hope you’ll join us in celebration as we build the major grassroots effort we need to ensure our communities are represented in the critical November elections!
