On
May 18th the Fund for Santa Barbara awarded the following
grants. With sixty applications, it was the Fund for Santa
Barbara's most competitive cycle ever. The following fourteen
projects will be announced and honored at the Spring Grant
Awards Party on Thursday, June 4th (see details in the
left-hand column).

SAVE THE DATE - Bread & Roses
2009 is set for:

PLACE: QAD Headquarters at the top of Ortega Hill in Summerland
Bread & Roses is the Fund for Santa Barbara's largest
annual celebration. It is a time for activists, donors,
volunteers, elected leaders, and all supporters of progressive
social change to gather, celebrate our work together and
raise money for the Fund's grant-making and technical
assistance programs. This year's event will once again
feature a gourmet buffet-style dinner from our region's
finest restaurants, wines from local vintners and both
a live & silent auction...
The planning committee is being formed now! Anyone interested
in assisting with this year's celebration should contact
Executive Director Geoff Green at 962-9164. The first
planning meeting is set for Tuesday, June 16th
from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at the Fund for Santa Barbara
office - 26 West Anapamu Street in Santa Barbara.
Tickets are $65 in advance (available ONLY through
Thursday, September 10th). After that, all tickets must
be purchased at the door for $75.
Sliding Scale Tickets are available. (i.e. no one will
be turned away for lack of funds - please just make a
donation at the door and join us!)
Tickets, sponsorships and donations may be made via check,
cash or credit card (VISA or Mastercard). Please call
